Butterflies in the Brazos is a volunteer organization that was founded by concerned citizens of the Brazos Valley area. Citizens were concerned when they were informed about how important their area was in the migration of Monarch Butterflies from Canada to Mexico. The Brazos Valley was found to be an important feeding, resting, and reproduction area on the journey of the Monarch Butterfly. However a decline in the milkweed population, which is the only food source larva for these insects can feed on, has caused a hiccup for their migration process. This hiccup in the area hurts the population of these butterflies, who are important pollinators for plants that we both commercially sell and consume. Hopefully as a community member of either the Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, and Robertson counties,  you realize how much you could help yourself by flooding the area with beautiful butterflies and in turn improving our local economy. Thank you!
